Our mission is to empower women during the sacred first 40 days of motherhood by providing nutrient-dense, healing meals that support physical restoration, emotional bonding, and the transition into a new life. We aim to alleviate the stress of meal planning and preparation, allowing new mothers to focus solely on healing, bonding with their baby, and embracing this transformative journey.

Inspired by global postpartum traditions, our carefully crafted meal plans are designed to nourish, repair, and recharge the body with minimal effort on the mother's part. We believe that every mother deserves the time and space to heal, without the burden of rushing back into society.

We are committed to sustainability in our packaging, food sourcing, and delivery practices. Additionally, we dedicate ourselves to giving back to our community through Feed It Forward partnerships, ensuring that the benefits of nourishment extend beyond just our clients.

We are here to support new mothers, uplift families, and contribute to the well-being of our community,
one meal at a time.

Our Commitment

Meals are planned with a strong focus on the first week of detoxifying and restoring balance to the womb, followed by 4-6 weeks of strengthening, healing, and nourishing the body to promote long-term vitality.

Every meal is crafted to be nutrient-dense, easy to reheat, and tailored to the needs of a new mother, ensuring they can spend more time resting, bonding, and adapting to their new role.

Our Approach

Note from Our Founder

When I first imagined Fourth House, all I wanted was to feed the women in my life who had just given birth. I wanted to ease the stress of new motherhood, so families could focus on rest, bonding, and connection, rather than worrying about what to eat.

As the idea grew, I began to learn about postpartum care traditions around the world. Fourth House is inspired by postpartum food traditions from around the world, with recipes designed to restore strength, warmth, and balance after birth. Influenced by Traditional Chinese Medicine, Indigenous knowledge, and ancestral care practices across cultures, our meals honour food as a form of medicine and care.  I acknowledge that the practices and philosophies that inform Fourth House are not my own; they are rooted in generations of knowledge passed down from mother to mother across cultures.

As a chef, I recognize that many of the recipes that inspire our work come from foodways I do not own. As a business owner, I am committed to honouring this lineage through action - not only in words, but through community give-back, inclusive hiring practices, and ongoing education.

Fourth House exists to support new mothers across our city, and we welcome our community to hold us accountable as we continue to learn, listen, and grow.

Thank you for all your support.
Sincerely,

Georgia
